Favorite Haunt?
Greenbrier Restaurant in Gatlinburg. It is haunted by a young woman, Lydia, who hung herself in the lodge when her fiance left her standing at the altar. Legend Circa - 1930s. I have experienced a strong presence when I walk up to the bedroom, which is now the private dining hall.

Favorite Halloween Memory?
It wasn't Halloween but should have been. I was visiting Scotland in 1998, tracing my Clan Gunn roots along the north eastern seaboard, but was stopping at all castle ruins along that trek. I came across one that still had a lot of structure left (which, sadly, is usually not the case) and it looked so fascinating that I HAD to stop regardless of how far out it seemed from the main road. It was on a cliff on the other side of a huge fenced field. According to the map this was once Girnigoe/Sinclair castle. It had no tie to my clan (or so I thought). It was in the middle of the day and no one was around. Once inside the fortress, the terrain was very hilly and the paths, which were slick from rain the day before, would lead to outlook posts giving the clansman a fantastic view of the North Sea and oncoming ships. I was so overwhelmed with the surrounding that I didn’t even notice the large room that was still intact. I wanted to pass through the room to go out to the extending cliff. It was such a beautiful, clear day I wanted to get pictures from all angles. As I approached the entrance, I froze. I suddenly had a great fear come over me. I couldn’t go in. This did not seem at all logical to me. I am a pretty feisty, independent gal , as I was traveling solo on this entire trip, and I welcome a challenge. But this was one I had never experienced before. I felt a STRONG presence like I was NOT welcomed there. I kept looking over my s shoulder. It was as if something was right behind me the whole time, wherever I moved to it was right there, breathing down my back, watching. It was the MOST terrified (heart pulsing, skin crawling, MUCH paranoia) I have ever experienced. The entity became so forceful I had to leave immediately. I got back to my rental and almost started to cry. I was so overcome with emotion. Later that day I had a great meal at a fabulous pub and thought about the day. So, it wasn’t until last year, Oct. 2008, that I discovered why I WASN"T welcomed there. If you're curiosity has peaked, go to this short link and marvel at the things we call hauntings!! I was both freaked out and exhilarated at the same time and CANNOT wait to go back there. To wreck REVENGE for my clan!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Champions

I guess that makes sense! It is hard to try and get younger people to think simpler especially when society and film show gorier films. However, it is possible with elementary school and honestly that is where some of my best Halloween memories co...
